Brain Wise

The highlight of the first day at SETT2016 (Scandinavian Educational Technology Transformation) provided WebEnglish.se with both new and revived information about our dearest organ, the brain. The speaker, Ulrika Ahlquist told a story about how she planned to create a Brain Room at her school but realised that the brain is not developed by some Sudoku in an activity room, but with life-changing practices and new habits. The things you are most passionate about are best for your brain. Just do what you love! What a lovely remedy. Here are some other good habits that are not so hard to follow: Hugging for 20 sec. eight times a day, meeting with good friends, smiling, sleeping well and eating well. The one about exercise I’ll think about another time, but the one about relaxing I promise to take very seriously. The lecture by Ulrika Ahlquist was in Swedish, but here is an article with some of the same information: How to Keep Your Brain Fit
