Native American Day, Sept 23rd

The 4th Friday of September is Native American Day, dedicated to celebrating the honour of all Native Americans, who have had to give up their homelands and change their ways of life for the benefit of the white people that invaded the Americas. WebEnglish.se has updated the theme page about Native Americans and temporarily opened up a private Lesson Plan from My Classes about the current issue Protests Over North Dakota Pipeline fought in the courtrooms right now.
There are various videos as well as reading and listening materials, from a couple of minutes’ warm-ups to several weeks’ projects. Especially at this time of political tension on immigration, it is highly recommended that you spend some time with your students on this issue.
