April Calendar 2017

This year April Fool’s Day is (luckily) on a Saturday, so you may elude your students’ pranks, but you may still want to bring up some discussions about the origins, the best pranks or why not the ethicality of it all. * The Spring Break in Scandinavia always takes place around Easter and for some, it will continue over Earth Day on April 22nd. * Last year marked 400 years from Shakespeare’s death. Consequently, so many Shakespeare materials were added to WebEnglish.se that they were divided into two categories: Shakespeare’s life and his work. * For young learners (yr 1-6), there is a theme page of Spring, and for the pre-intermediate level (yr 3-8), it’s time to start planning for the End of the Year, while school-leavers are already busy thinking about their Life After Compulsory School.

Earth Day, April 22nd

If you missed the chance to raise awareness of environmental issues around the Earth Hour a couple of weeks ago, you have a new chance on Earth Day this Wednesday.
Apart from Earth Day materials in Teaching by Calendar for year 3-9, WebEnglish.se also has a Theme Page with environmental materials for year 5-9.
Note that an environmental perspective is one of the four overall perspectives that should permeate all subjects according to Lgr11 (the Swedish Curriculum)
