This year week four, the last week in January is the busiest Calendar Week ever, as there are four annual celebrations in a row. Tuesday, January 25th is Burns Night, celebrated for the honour of the Scottish National Poet, Robert Burns, who wrote Auld Lang Syne among other poems.
Wednesday, January 26th is Australia Day, celebrated in Australia to mark the anniversary of the 1788 arrival of the First Fleet of British Ships at Port Jackson, New South Wales.
Thursday, January 27th is Holocaust Memorial Day, commemorating this date in 1945 when the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp was liberated by American soldiers. Lastly, on Saturday, the Chinese New Year is celebrated in several places throughout the English Speaking World.
