Take good time standing in front of the students, talking about yourself, as they will need their time to get acquainted with your looks, your voice and your dialect/variation of English. Some research has said that it takes 30 min listening to a new person before one actually hears what the person is saying, as the mind is busy making connections, finding differences and similarities to all previous acquaintances. So, have a chat and leave all the important information till later or deliver it on paper.
