Planning Page

WebEnglish hopes to make every teacher’s life easier by presenting term plan templates to use together with your students and/or colleagues to plan an enjoyable school term.  WebEnglish suggests your plan be filled with themes, books, films, and whatever else the class might come up with.

If you are familiar with Google Forms, you can COPY one of the following documents, and edit the questionnaire for your students by deleting all the themes that do not apply to the level of your class.
Google Form, All Themes yr 3-6
Google Form, All Themes yr 7-9
Google Form B1

To continue using paper and pen, just follow these steps:

1. Choose your class level and print out or show on the whiteboard the list of WebEnglish topics:

Topics for year 3
Topics for year 4
Topics for year 5
Topics for year 6
Topics for year 7
Topics for year 8
Topics for year 9

2. Let your students choose which themes they would like to study in English.
NB! There are more themes in WebEnglish. Take a look at the
Seasonal Themes,
Literature,
Fairy Tales,
and History to add some of your own choices.

3. Plan when the themes will be studied and mark them on a term plan.  See an example here

4. Check the Calendar and Seasonal Themes to choose which annual celebrations you wish to acknowledge in class

5. Add some time for studying English Speaking Countries  (or leave it till the spring term)

6. Add some time for reading real books

7. Add some time for formative and summative assessments

8. Leave leeway for sudden changes due to World News.

Suggestion: Show an empty plan to your students and fill it in together or show an example plan and let them choose the themes, films, test dates, calendar topics, etc.
