3 Celebrations in 5 Days

The five days ahead cause real trouble for teachers to choose which celebrations and carnivals to focus on in their classrooms. Friday, Feb 12th isĀ  Chinese New Year, which celebrates the start of the Year of the Ox with both big and small carnivals all around the English Speaking World, wherever Chinese people have relocated. Sunday is finally Valentine’s Day that many classes have already been discussing. Next week Tuesday is another great carnival day, Mardi Gras, celebrated mainly in New Orleans, but also in many other countries.

Although this year’s celebrations may be diminished due to the pandemic, you can always learn about these traditions in the safety of your classroom, either in person or online.

Materials for all of these and much more are presented in this week’s WebEnglish.se Weekly Newsletter, coming out on Friday morning at 6 a.m CET.

If you don’t already, you still have time to subscribe.
